Caramoan Getaway Day 2

Pls. like my Facebook page, Bak-paker's Adventures.

Day 2 was allotted for far flung long beaches approx 45 mins – 1 hour boat ride from our resort. We were able to visit 2 wonderful beaches and a mountain-top grotto.

Our first stop was Lahuy Island. This is really a wonderful long beach! The water was so clear that you can see starfish and sea urchins at the bottom. You can ask your boatman to harvest starfish for you, but you can’t bring these wonderful creatures home. The boatman will return them back to the sea.

When we left Lahuy Island, our boatman brought us to an adjacent island which is still part of Lahuy. Voila! Locals started crowding even before we set foot. They were pulling their floating basins with them. And inside the basin…
These wonderful conches are very cheap. The largest was being sold to us for P45-P50. In Manila, a piece would cost you thousands. If you’re taking the bus back to Manila, you can definitely bring home one, but if you’re taking the plane, just buys the smaller one. Conches big in sizes are being confiscated by airport officers.
Second stop was Sabitang Laya Island. Another spectacular beach! This is two-sided beach. Big stones surround the beach and an open space will lead you to the other side.
Here, you’ll be able to swim with jellyfish. Don’t worry they’re totally harmless.
We also had our lunch here, under this cute tree!
And the last stop is the mountain top grotto of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, Mother of Peace. This grotto is located on top of Caglago Mountain in Barangay Tagbon. The grotto is 500+ steps high. You have to climb a long, long way up!
