Every last Saturday before the Christmas Eve, San Fernando holds The Giant Lantern Festival (or Ligligan Parul) at the back of Robinsons Starmills Pampanga. Every year, different barangays join this magnificent festival. It is because of this event and the parol industry of the city that San Fernando has been given the title “Christmas Capital of the Philippines”. Approximately 20-feet tall parols made of thousands of lightbulbs illuminate the night. To musical accompaniment, the lights’ synchronic movements form different artistic and colorful patterns.

Want to enjoy the spirit of Christmas? Experience the Ligligan Parul of San Fernando City!

Travel and Coverage Tips:
- San Fernando Pampanga is just 45mins - 1 hr. away from Manila.
- Most bus terminals in Cubao-Kamuning offer rides to Pampanga. I rode Victory Liner going to San Fernando Pampanga. Bus fare is P100.
- Alight at the Robinsons Starmills Pampanga.
- The event place is crowded with a lot of people. So if you want to take photos, be early at the event area.
- Be CAREFUL with your belongings.
- During this event, it is hard to get a ride back to Manila. The terminal near Robinsons Strarmills is closed during this event.
- You may opt to ride a jeep and alight at the Highway where buses from Olongapo pass. From there, you can get a bus back to Manila.
